I started with you, yet graduated in 1960.  Thank you for considering me your classmate as it is exactly how I feel.  I do intend to do my best to be at the August 2011 reunion. It has been wonderful to see the current photos of our classmates.  Great job on this website. Thanks, Phyllis for setting it up, and for those who have helped.

I studied linguistics and taught at the Uof M ( Communications Program) and later at Carleton College ( taught Modern and Biblical Hebrew) and then retired to CA, where I live on the Wilshire Corridor.  along the way I got involved in real estate and I am proud to be the owner of Ski Run Marina in South Lake Tahoe.  If you plan to be in So. Lake Tahoe for a vacation, please let me know.  I can get you discounted tickets on the Tahoe Queen, the paddlewheeler, that leaves Ski Run Marina for a cruise to Emerald Bay.

Life has been good and I have always been grateful for being able to live in America and to have experienced America of the late 50's.

I changed my first name to Elie three years ago as I got tired of sharing a name with the top Pakistani terrorist.

all the best,

Elie

Congratulations to all of us, as we celebrate our 50th North High School  anniversary year, and many thanks to those who over the years have organized  and facilitated our gatherings. It's my hope that most of you have been happy, healthy, and perhaps even thriving  in the life paths you have chosen.

After North High I went on to graduate from the U of M. and later finished my graduate work at the University of Miami.

During my full time teaching career in Canada I designed and taught over 20 different courses including jazz history, film music, jazz ensembles, and theory at Humber College. I was recruited 40 years ago to help establish at Humber the first College jazz program in Canada.

My wife and I who was  also a professor (school of Nursing), retired on the same day - Sept. 1st, 2001. We enrolled in art classes and have been painting ever since. For the last 10 years we've spent our Winters in Naples Florida painting with a group of artists from across the US and Canada. For us it's been a whole new chapter. Life has been good.
