Deceased January 2014 Yikes am I that old!! How about life begins at 50! I haven't changed a bit, just a couple of new wrinkles and a hint of gray hair. Taught school for 15 years, met my husband in the Army Reserve 5501 medical unit, and spent the last 15 years in real estate apartment and commercial office management. Retired three years ago and look forward to enjoying it. Feel like I have to recreate myself so I spend my time wisely. I'm into gardening and donating stuff to Friendship Village and Savers. My husband is working in Eden Prairie on clearing title problems on foreclosures in 10 counties in Florida, so the bank can resell them. Pray for our economy and our President!!! Hope for the best and prrepare for the worst. |

Comment:
Presently I am mainly doing printmaking and painting, growing vegetables and rice in northern Japan. I graduated from the U of M with a degree in Zoology. I switched from med school to physiology, then worked in biochemistry until allergies instigated a change to art. Atfer an extended stay in Mexico I returned to the U of Washington where I recieved a BFA in printmaking. I went on to the suburbs of Detroit to get an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art. I did illustration for a few years in Chicago before coming to Japan in 1978. After a year in Nagoya I went to Akita where I have been ever since. I attended the University of Akita where I picked up teaching certification for Japanese schools. I taught until retirement at Akita Seirei Gakuen and also taught courses in figure drawing and analog illustration at Akita Municipal College of Arts and Crafts. My wife was a substitute teacher in a school where I was teaching. I have three children and three grandchildren. |
