I am a true Northsider. I was born on the North side of Mpls. I attended Grant Elementary School, Franklin Jr. High Schol, and North High School. I have always lived in North Minneapolis. I worked at Munsingwear, Donaldsons and Miller Publishing Co. I currently work for the United States Postal Service in which I have worked 31 years and look forward to retiring. I am a mother of 3 and raised a foster son. I am the proud Grandmother of 9 wonderful grandchildren. I am also a lung cancer survivor. In 2008, I was nominated as a Civil Servant of the Year through the USPS. I was also featured in a video for the USPS, Northland District as an employee who "Makes a Difference". I serve on various committees through my church, Community Covenant Church and am involved in prison ministry through Aglow International at the Hennepin County Dept. of Corrections in Plymouth. I sing in various gospel choirs; some theatre; active with the Willard-Homewood Organization; and I am a "At Home" volunteer with the Hennepin County Public Library, delivering library books to those that are shut-in or homebound. I enjoy walking and listening to gospel music. |
